nVidia's new flagship graphics card is slated to be released in under three weeks! The new GTX 295 features two GTX 200-cores on a 55nm die shrink with 240 stream processors, 28 ROPs, 80 texture filtering units - per core, and a total of 1792 MB of shared memory. TDP of the card is 289 watts, consuming less power than two 260's or 280's, the die shrink helping it consume less power. Initially, it was thought that this card was intended to compete with ATi's 4850X2, but benchmarks show that it outperforms ATi's 4
870X2 by quite a large margin in some tests.
It's official launch date is on January 8th, and this is the best part - its suggested street price is $500. Making it cheaper than the 4870X2.
Its design follows that of the 9800GX2 closely, with some modifications, such as the perforated casing. It features two GPU's on separate PCB's sandwitching a monolithic heatsink in between. A fan draws air in through holes in the PCB's.

(Yay for built-in HDMI)

And some previews with benchmarks comparing it to other high-end cards. Keep in mind, these are on beta drivers -

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/ha ... eview.htmlI think I'll be getting one. With BFG's Trade Up program, I'll likely be able to trade in my GTX 280 for this card for $100 or less.
